°×С½ãÂÛ̳ Professor of Law Philippe Sands and °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Institute for Global Health directors Anthony Costello and Mark Maslin will present the latest research into global public health as part of a series of talks at the British Museum.

On 20 November, Sands will speak on attitudes towards the law surrounding the use of torture since the 11 September 2001 attacks on the World Trade Centre. His talk will be followed by a joint presentation from Costello and Maslin on 4 December, entitled 'Too Hot to Handle: the Climate Change Time Bomb for Public Health'.

The lectures are part of 'Making Things Better', a series of talks organised by David Napier of the Centre for Applied Global Citizenship and °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Anthropology and sponsored by Novartis, the Wellcome Trust and °×С½ãÂÛ̳ Grand Challenges.

The programme also includes presentations by Simon Reich, director of the University of Pittsburgh's Ford Institute for Human Security (23 October), Nils Daulaire, president and CEO of the Global Health Council (30 October) and a screening of the film 'Forty Years of Silence: An Indonesian Tragedy', hosted by Robert Lemelson, visiting assistant professor of psychology at °×С½ãÂÛ̳A.

The series complements the Museum's Wellcome Trust Gallery of Living and Dying.
