Symposium: 'How can we build North/South research and higher education partnerships for health?'

2 November 2007

°×С½ãÂÛ̳ hosts a symposium on Friday 9 November looking at how to build capacity for higher education and research in developing countries.

The area is a critical issue for global health improvement, and this symposium will focus on what institutions in developing countries want, what is the best approach to partnership, and how 'northern' institutions can build and sustain partnerships.

Each session will comprise a brief summary lecture given by an expert in the field, followed by a discussion involving a panel of experts and the audience. Confirmed speakers and panellists include Professor Adenike Grange (Hon Minister of Health for Nigeria), Sir Leszek Borysiewicz (Medical Research Council), and Dr Mark Walport (Wellcome Trust).

The symposium runs from 11am to 5.15pm on Friday 9 November, at the AV Hill lecture theatre (map).

To book a place, please contact Linda Deex, +44 (0)20 7905 2126. Please state your title, name, organisation/affiliation and email address when booking a place.

Places are limited, and replies should be received by 5th November 2007.
