'Opticon1826' student essay competition

°×С½ãÂÛ̳ journal 'Opticon1826' has launched an essay competition open to all °×С½ãÂÛ̳ students.

Entrants must complete the title 'The Future of…' and write between 2,000 and 2,500 words on the subject. 'Opticon1826' editorial staff will judge the entries. A top prize of £100 and two runner-up prizes of £50 will be awarded.

'Opticon1826' Editor-in-Chief Miss Gesche Ipsen (°×С½ãÂÛ̳ Comparative Literature) said: "Which, or whose, future you envisage is entirely up to you. It could be anything: the future of a field of research, pop music, °×С½ãÂÛ̳, London, religion, planet Earth.... Entries should present a fresh and considered vision of the future of your chosen subject, and should be aimed at a general university audience."

Entries must be submitted by 5pm on 7 September 2007. The winning and runner-up entries will be published in the Autumn 2007 issue of 'Opticon1826'.
