On 31 January 2007, around 130 paintings will be going under the hammer at The Hospital Gallery, with the aim of raising £300,000.

The Alive + Well Dog Project centres round 'Boil the dog', originally a doodle by six-year-old Jenson Parsons, stepson of project organiser Mr Simon Freedman.

A number of high-profile figures, including Sir Paul McCartney, Damien Hirst, Sir Richard Rogers and Alan Bennett have created their own versions of Boil the dog for the project.

°×С½ãÂÛ̳ alumni who are involved include comedian Ricky Gervais (°×С½ãÂÛ̳ Philosophy 1983), Turner Prize winner Rachel Whiteread (°×С½ãÂÛ̳ Slade School of Fine Art 1987) and sculptor Antony Gormley (°×С½ãÂÛ̳ Slade School of Fine Art 1979).

An exhibition of all the dogs is on show at The Hospital Gallery, Covent Garden, from 26 January - 7 February 2007, and a limited edition book featuring colour reproductions of all the canine creatures can be ordered on the project's website.
