°×С½ãÂÛ̳ in the eye of the storm

10 July 2003

The system was developed to allow insurers and risk managers to forecast more accurately potential losses and claims from tropical storm damage throughout the world.

The system provides real-time data as well as forecasts up to five days in advance. The forecasts are updated every 6-12 hours and provide for all active tropical cyclcone systems worldwide information on storm position, strength, track, track uncertainty and spatial wind fields.

Dr Mark Saunders (Space & Climate Physics), TSR's Lead Scientist and Project Manager, commented: "Tropical Storm Tracker is arguably the leading tracker on the market and will become the industry standard. It provides the best available information at your fingertips for assessing the risk from active tropical storms worldwide."
