Description

This module is compulsory for all students studying the MSc Periodontology (distance learning) programme.

The contents of this module will include (but are not limited to):

  • Screening, diagnosis and clinical presentation of periodontal diseases
  • Procedural skills for examination and assessment of periodontal diseases
  • Criteria for classification of periodontal diseases and conditions
  • Radiographic principles in the management of periodontal patients
  • Clinical case presentation material
  • Interdisciplinary aspects of diagnosis and treatment planning

On successful completion of the module, graduates will have achieved a foundation in the understanding and basic clinical practice of:

  • Diagnosis and treatment planning in Periodontology
  • Clinical procedures for examination, assessment and diagnosis of periodontal diseases
  • Classification of periodontal diseases
  • Radiographic principles in the management of the periodontal patient
  • Documentation and presentation of clinical cases
  • Interdisciplinary aspects of diagnosis and treatment planning
